A Trump Presidency: Should Christians Celebrate or Not?

I’ve seen Christians online smiling at the news of Donald Trump’s election victory and I’m confused.

Are we living in the same America???

Donald Trump winning the election is NOT a cause for celebration… not by any stretch of the imagination!

At best it’s simply the lesser of two evils… as unfortunately, all indications point to Hilary being a lying, murdering criminal!

However, make no mistake, a Donald Trump presidency is NOT a victory!

If anything, it’s a wake-up call for the Church to buckle down to PRAYER!

I’ve heard from sources that Donald Trump got saved and became a Born Again Christian. If that’s true, then this is certainly great news… particularly for HIM!

But does this mean that Christians everywhere can now rejoice for his presidency?

I will certainly join the Angels in heaven in celebrating the salvation of one former sinner who’s now saved by grace… IF his salvation is real! This remains to be seen because Jesus said, “you will know them by their fruits.”

That’s where the watching comes in. Let’s watch for his fruits and see what kind of tree they come from.

In any case a Trump Presidency is not a cause for smiling faces from Christians but rather a call to watch and pray.

After the “two” Corinthians flub at Liberty University it’s clear that Donald Trump probably never opened a Bible in his life before that day so even if he’s now officially “Brother Trump” it’s obvious he needs our prayers now more than ever.

Any mature Believer knows it takes years of bible study and prayer, while drawing closer to the Holy Spirit in praise, worship and obedience to significantly renew your mind and to consistently perceive and understand life from God’s perspective.

And Donald Trump is the man who several weeks ago was advocating grabbing women by their private parts, which for the record is not just “locker room talk” it’s straight up sexual assault!

This is the man who is now in charge of making decisions that will directly affect the lives of over 300 million people in this country and Billions worldwide… Do you understand the severity of that reality???

One of my major concerns with President Elect Trump is that I perceive him to be both a bully and a coward and that could spell disaster for someone in his soon-to-be position.

Suppose some upstart country with visions of political grandeur decides to threaten America’s peace and safety and the bully in our President rises up and overreacts to the situation with an unnecessary show of force?

Do you think other World Powers will sit idly by and let him overplay his hand without a challenge?

Or suppose said major world power is the one who makes an aggressive move against us simply to test the resolve of our new Commander-in-Chief and the coward in him causes him to bow to the threat rolling over and showing his belly?

Either of these two scenarios could spell disaster for us as a world power inviting our enemies to take advantage of the inexperience of our Commander-in-Chief and lead to serious global conflict.

If that happens will any of us be smiling then?

So please forgive me if you don’t see me smiling at the prospect of a Donald Trump Presidency as I’m more inclined to be spending time in fasting and prayer.
