Netflix announced they’re removing all the customer reviews of Movies and TV shows from their site so I’m transferring the 45 reviews I’ve made over the years to my own Personal Website right here.
There’ll be 10 Reviews per page.
Disclaimer: Some of these shows will contain scenes of Violence, Sex and Nudity with Course Language.
You are advised to properly investigate the content of any Movie or TV Show you intend watching.
I gave it 3 stars. If there were 1/2 stars I would give it 3 1/2.
This movie was engaging, interesting and entertaining!
While there were a couple moments of levity however, this by no means can be called a comedy. That’s just ridiculous. It’s more of a slice-of-life movie.
It’s good to see Missi Pyle playing something more than just the comedic sidekick in a movie.
Melissa McCarthy always brings her A-game to any Project and does not disappoint here.
I don’t think it’s “terrific” or “fantastic” but it is worthwhile entertainment if you don’t mind being bombarded with course language every so often.
I gave it 4 stars!
The people who are giving this movie less than 3 stars are either not very bright, not very mature or have been living in some lily white fantasy world all their lives where they have not been touched by reality.
The movie was honest, real, well acted, well scripted and very well directed by Liz Garcia.
She did a brilliant job!
The very last frame of the movie was just pure genius.
I loved it!
I’m not particularly a huge fan of Kristen Bell but she did a brilliant job in this movie!
A skillful and moving performance! And great work by the supporting cast! A++++!
This is a B Movie. Going in you know that. Having said that, for a B movie it was good! No complaints
Most of these “reviewers” don’t have a clue!
The movie Is BRILLIANT!
Watch and judge for yourself!
The only thing I did not like was the last 10 seconds of the movie, the very last shot. I thought that should have been handled better! Otherwise, very intelligently done!
At one point, just for a few seconds you actually find yourself rooting for the bad guys.
Masterful audience manipulation!
Joss Whedon is a master! Director, Drew Goddard did an excellent job!
WOW! I am duly impressed!
I did not expect too much from this movie because I don’t remember any major marketing done for it and no over the top Hollywood hype that’s usually associated with blockbuster action flicks.
But boy was I pleasantly surprised!
As far as I’m concerned this movie was flawlessly executed!
The directing was spot on by Peter Travis, the writing was perfect, acting impeccable and storyline was simple but made sense.
Olivia Thirlby is one of my favorites and I didn’t even know she was one of the actors.
I first took notice of her in “The Secret” with David Ducovny. And she absolutely nailed her role in this!
Karl Urban is one of the most underrated actors in Hollywood and he played this role to perfection!
It’s very difficult to get an audience to connect with you when they can’t see your eyes but Kurt handled this role masterfully!
Very few actors could have delivered this so effortlessly.
I also like Lena Headey and she pulled off her role nicely too.
It would have been so easy to over play her character and portray her as cartoonish.
And I suspect in the hands of a less skillful actress that’s exactly what would have happened, but for “Sarah Connor” and “Queen Leonidas” this was a cake walk.
Well done by all! A Job very well done indeed!
The main male character is sooo wimpy and vacillates so much in making a decision that you totally hate him by the end of the movie.
I wanted to crawl inside the movie and bi+ch slap some sense into him!!
I don’t know how any intelligent person could give this 4 stars! It’s Predictable… You know exactly what’s going to happen before it does.
I guess what appeals to a lot of reviewers is the sex and the nudity.
There’s one particularly realistic carpet munching scene.
I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone but different strokes for different folks… you might love it!
ADVICE: Anytime you see a movie with polarizing reviews (1’s and 4’s)… My advice is to watch it and decide for yourself!
9 times out of 10 it’s a great movie and the people who are giving it 1 and 2 stars either don’t understand it or they are just plain stupid.
I know that sounds harsh but it’s simply true. This was a great movie! Flawless in it’s execution!
All the parts tied up nicely and made perfect sense. The twist at the end was very well done.
I watch a lot of movies and I watch them with a critical eye so I noticed the inconsistencies all throughout the movie that led to the twist at the end.
The director and writers were dropping clues all throughout the movie and it’s up to the astute person to notice them so that when the surprise comes at the end and you consider all that you’ve just seen it actually makes perfect sense.
The problem with most people is that they don’t know how to watch a movie and notice the clues that are being dropped so that when the twist comes at the end they are taken by complete surprise and are left wondering the hell just happened?
That’s NOT the fault of the Director nor the Writers if you’re not intelligent enough nor observant enough to notice the clues left for you!
This movie deserves 4 stars… period!
Excellent movie! From start to finish… pure brilliance!
The acting was good. But what stood out for me was the writing and directing.
Perry Bhandal is a force!
I particularly love the soundtrack. You can tell that he meticulously chose the individual pieces of music for each respective scene because the soundtrack is slamming!
I am so wary of “Reviewers” here on Netflix, you have to be very discerning about who you choose to listen to.
In my opinion, anybody who doesn’t give this a 3 or higher doesn’t know what he’s talking about!
Love the ending… very well done!
Very good movie!
Whenever I see movies with great differences in the reviews (1’s and 4’s)
I usually watch it myself to make up my own mind and I’m glad I did this time too.
All those who gave this movie 1 star are apparently children with nothing better to do than write silly reviews.
I have learnt never to completely trust reviews on Netflix but to read carefully between the lines and judge for myself when all is said and done.
This movie is worth the watch!
But don’t take my word for it … decide for yourself!
If you are interested enough to read the reviews you should definitely watch the movie and make up your own mind about it’s merits or lack thereof.
I’m a man and I find this movie well written and very well directed!
The acting is excellent by all the players and though the movie is slow it’s not boring at all. At least not for an intellectually and emotionally intelligent person.
Its so unfortunate that some people cannot separate their feelings about the characters and the story from the actual movie itself as a work of art.
In writing a good review you have to be able to judge the movie on its technical merits… was the writing intelligently done, was the directing effective enough to draw you into the story being told and allow you to become a part of it?
How was the acting by the players?
Camera angles, background music, editing? These are the main factors to consider when writing a review.
After reading some of these reviews I find myself compelled to review the reviewers along with the movie:
Some of these reviewers are obviously male and have NO CLUE about the female psyche.
One person said that the husband was being punished for being attracted to his wife.
Dude… you totally missed it!
The wife made it painfully clear why she was pissed off and in my opinion rightfully so.
Being sexually attracted to your wife is one thing but no self-respecting woman likes to be objectified in the manner she described.
The husband was wrong and I’m not saying he deserved what he got but we must try to understand that the retribution she exacted upon him is what SHE felt he deserved and we can’t judge that because WE didn’t experience the years of humiliation and emotional torture she went through at his hands… Nuff said.
