How Can a Christian Prove That God Exists?
How can we prove that there is indeed a God who created the universe and all life therein?
Let’s use an illustration:
Suppose there is a child who was abandoned at birth and adopted by people other than their birth parents who both disappeared without a trace.
If someone were to ask the question:
Does That Child’s Birth Parents Exist?
How could we intelligently answer that question?
There is absolutely no trace of their existence and no proof of them ever being alive on planet earth.
Is there any way to prove that these people exist and are real?
Yes, there is!
There is one sure-fire, bullet-proof way to prove beyond the slightest shadow of a doubt that this child’s parents exist.
That proof is… The Child!
The fact that the child exist is absolute proof beyond any doubt that their parents also exist.
Life proves life!
The Law of Biogenesis states that Life cannot come from Nonliving matter but must come from existing Life.
It takes life to produce life.
The fact that this child exists is all the proof anyone needs, to know beyond any doubt that they have parents who exist.
The existence of the child proves the existence of their parents.
How can you prove that God exists… YOU ARE THE PROOF!
Every Born Again Christian is living proof that God exists.
Life must come from life and the eternal life that you have within you must have come from an Eternal, Living Being who gave that life to you.
Christian, when you look inside you and discern the difference before you were born again as opposed to after you were born again, that is the greatest proof that God exists.
If a person is born, it proves their parents exist.
If a person is born again, it proves their God exists.
The problem with this scenario is that most of us Christians live our lives as though there is no change within us.
We live like the world, adopting their customs, their ideologies and habits, so when they look at us and see no change and no difference, this proves to them that there is no eternal life in us, no difference and consequently no God who gave us that life.
Unfortunately, the way the average Christian lives their life strengthens and supports Atheism.
When the world looks at us they must see such a stark difference between us and them that it impacts their senses with the truth that there is a God!
The evidence of the abundant, eternal life within us should inexorably point them to the Author of that Life… The only true and Living God!
The strongest proof of God is the life that a Christian lives.
The most powerful argument against Atheism is the Character and Power of Jesus Christ demonstrated in the life of a Born Again Believer. (Matthew 5:16)
I just watched a video on Facebook where a Pastor was rightfully denouncing racism and racist people. (See video here)
But afterward, he sort of apologized for using the word “Stupid” and it got me thinking… As a Christian, is it wrong to point out someone’s stupidity?
What follows is my understanding of scripture on this matter:
Did you know being stupid is a sin and Christians are called to denounce sin?
“The thought of foolishness is sin…” Proverbs 24:9
“Those who continue in sin, rebuke in the presence of all…” 1st Timothy 5:20
The Dictionary Defines Stupid as – Having or showing a great lack of intelligence or common sense.
The Dictionary Defines Foolish as – Lack of common sense or good judgment; unwise.
The Dictionary goes on to describe foolish as: Senseless, vacant, vapid, simple, witless, fatuous, silly, inane, stupid and asinine.
We can see from the above definitions that being foolish and being stupid are synonymous.
So, why are the definitions of these words important?
Because the Bible uses the word Fool or Foolish almost 200 times to warn people NOT to be foolish (stupid).
Paul, the Apostle called the Galatians foolish – Gal 3:1
Jesus called the disciples fools – Luke 24:25
Moses called the Israelites foolish – Deuteronomy 32:6
God called an entire nation foolish – Deuteronomy 32:21
The New Testament word translated here is “Anoetos” and means, “Unintelligent, Unwise.”
The Old Testament word Translated here is “Nabal” and means, “Senseless.”
There is one verse (Matthew 5:22) that needs special attention.
In the KJV Jesus said, “But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.”
On the surface, this verse seems to contradict my position, however, deeper study is necessary for the truth to unfold.
The Contemporary English Version of the Bible translates this verse as:
“But I promise you that if you are angry with someone, you will have to stand trial. If you call someone a fool, you will be taken to court. And if you say that someone is worthless, you will be in danger of the fires of hell.”
The New living Translation says:
“But I say, if you are even angry with someone, you are subject to judgment! If you call someone an idiot, you are in danger of being brought before the court. And if you curse someone, you are in danger of the fires of hell.”
Comparing these translations helps to clarify what Jesus is actually saying.
Clearly He’s not just talking about calling someone a fool because He does exactly that in Luke 24:25 and He cannot contradict Himself (neither can He sin).
The Hebrew word translated “fool” in Matthew 5:22 is NOT he same as in the other verses, it is the word “Moros” which means; impious, godless and useless.
This word specifically expresses condemnation.
Thus, it’s clear in Matthew 5:22 Jesus is NOT referring to calling someone a fool but rather condemning someone for their moral character, which only God can legally do.
The problem is, the Bible says we do have the power of death and life in our mouths, so when we condemn someone we are actually pronouncing a curse upon them.
In Matthew 5:22, Jesus is specifically talking about judging and condemning someone for their value as a human being, someone whom God has fearfully and wonderfully made in His own image and likeness.
In essence, this is a personal reproach and an insult to God… hence the danger of hell fire.
The bottom line of this issue is this…
You do not need to apologize for pointing out someone’s stupidity if, in the spirit of love, your intention is to warn them or others away from it.
God thought warning people about stupidity was so important He devoted entire Books of the Bible to it… According to bible categorization there are 5 specific Books of Wisdom, chief of which is the Book of Proverbs.
The first 4 verses of Proverbs clearly outline it’s purpose:
“These are the wise sayings of Solomon, son of David, king of Israel:
They show you how to know wisdom and teaching, to find the words of understanding.
They help you learn about the ways of wisdom and what is right and fair.
They give wisdom to the child-like, and much learning and wisdom to those who are young.” (NLV)
To summarize, the purpose of this Book is to get you to stop being stupid and start being wise.
Pointing out someone’s lack of wisdom is neither here not there, what makes it right or wrong is the motive of your heart.
Are you pointing out someone’s stupidity to insult them and boost your own ego? This is Wrong!
Are you pointing out someone’s foolishness to warn them or others away from it and toward wisdom? This is Right!
10 Reasons Why A Born Again Christian Cannot Lose Their Salvation
For the purpose of this discussion a Christian is someone who has believed the Gospel of Jesus Christ, (Acts 16:31) repented (Acts 17:30) and has been justified by God, (1 Corinthians 6:11) regenerated by the Holy Spirit (Titus 3:5) and translated into the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (Colossians 1:13).
By the way, there is no other type of Christian… THIS IS what becoming a Christian means.
If the description above does not apply to you … THEN YOU ARE NOT A CHRISTIAN.
If the description above applies to you then here are 10 reasons why you cannot lose your salvation:
1. Jesus said His Sheep Shall Never Perish and He Cannot Lie.
“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish.” (John 10:27-28)
(This one reason should be enough to end the entire discussion)
2. No One is Greater Than God the Father and it is He Who Keeps Us Saved
In John 10:27-29 Jesus said, His Father is greater than all and no man is able to pluck them out of His Father’s hand.
Therefore, if I can pluck myself out of the Father’s hand then I am greater than the Father.
3. Jesus Cannot Pray Amiss and He Prayed For Our Complete Salvation
John Chapter 17 is a prayer Jesus prayed to the Father for all Christians.
In verse 9 He said, “My prayer is not for the world, but for those you have given me, because they belong to you.”
In verse 20 He said, “I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me through their message.”
In verse 11 He said, “Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me.”
In verse 17 He said, “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.”
In verse 21 He said, “I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one — as you are in me, Father, and I am in you.”
In verse 24 He said, “Father, I want these whom you have given me to be with me where I am.”
Jesus was sinlessly perfect in every way so it is impossible for Him to ever pray amiss, meaning, His prayer is always answered by God.
In John 17 He prayed:
a. That God keep us
b. That God sanctify us
c. That we be one with Him and the Father
d. That we be where He is
Did Jesus pray amiss or did God answer His prayers?
If Jesus prayed amiss then He is NOT God and nobody is saved anyway.
If He prayed in faith then God answered His prayer which means:
a. Christians are kept by God
b. Christians are sanctified by God
c. Christians will be one with God
d. Christians will be where Jesus is
In short, no Christian can lose their salvation because Jesus has prayed for us and God has answered this prayer.
If God the Son is praying to God the Father, then of course His prayers are going to be answered… “Father, I want these whom you have given me to be with me where I am.” (John 17:24)
4. Christians Don’t Keep Themselves Saved, they Are Kept by the Power of God
According to 1 Peter 1:5 Christians are kept by the power of God, (not by their own power) therefore, if a Christian ever lost his salvation that means… GOD HAS FAILED!
You might be tempted to reason that the verse said, we are kept “through faith” so if we don’t have faith we can still lose our salvation but according to Ephesians 2:8-9 saving faith is a gift given to us, not something we acquire by effort.
5. When You Got Saved You Were Forgiven for ALL Your sins, (Past, Present and Future)
Jesus Christ is the Author of eternal salvation. (Hebrews 5:9)
God inhabits eternity. (Isaiah 57:15)
The past, the present and the future relate to the passage of Time but God lives outside of Time in the realm of Eternity, this means, for God there is no past, present and future as we know it… the entirety of human existence is all present to Him.
Therefore, the human concept that you can be forgiven for past sins but not for future sins is meaningless with God.
With God you are either forgiven or NOT forgiven… There is no past, present or future with respect to your salvation.
You are either eternally saved or eternally lost.
6. Jesus is the Author and Finisher of Your Faith (Heb 12:2)
The word translated “Author” is the Greek word “Archegos” and also means Captain or Prince.
It is used exclusively for Jesus Christ 4 times in the entire Bible.
The word translated “Finisher” is the Greek word “Teleiotes” also translated as Perfector and means, “One who has raised faith to its perfection.”
This word is used just once in the entire Bible describing what Jesus has done for us in salvation.
We therefore, have in Jesus Christ, someone who has raised faith to the level of PERFECTION and whose faith does the Bible say He has perfected… OUR FAITH!
So, when you accept Jesus Christ as your Savior you are not just forgiven and then left to maintain your salvation for yourself. That would be ridiculous!
Jesus saves you with a perfect faith, ensuring that it can never fail, so you can never be lost.
7. The Reason You Cannot Work for Your Salvation is the Same Reason You Cannot Lose Your Salvation
Becoming a Christian means having your inner nature changed and you cannot change your inner nature for yourself. (2 Peter 1:4)
If you ask any Christian, “Can you save yourself?” The answer is going to be, “No!”
But most Christians never pursue that line of reasoning to it’s natural conclusion.
Let’s ask and answer those questions and see what we get:
Q. Can you save yourself?
Q. Why can’t you save yourself?
A. I can’t save myself because I don’t have the power to change my inner nature through my actions. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
Becoming born again means allowing God to transform my inner nature through the regeneration of my spirit. (Titus 3:5)
This is something completely out of my control. It’s a miraculous process that God does all by Himself without my input. I simply step back in faith and allow Him to create that miracle within me. (2 Corinthians 5:17)
Q. So, you’re saying that you cannot change your inner nature?
A. No, I cannot.
Q. And why not?
A. Because God did not give me the authority nor the ability to transform my own inner nature. He reserved that jurisdiction for Himself alone.
Q. So, if God did not give you the authority nor the ability to change your nature from unsaved to saved, from where did you get the authority and ability to change it from saved back to unsaved?
8. The Lord said, he will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5)
The word “Leave” translated from the Greek “Aniemi” means, “to send back, to give up, to let sink, not to uphold.”
The word “Forsake” translated from the Greek “egkataleipo” means, “to abandon, desert, leave in straits, leave helpless, to leave behind.”
The word “Never” is translated from the Greek “Ou Me” it is a double negative and means, “certainly not, not at all, by no means.”
If you’re a Christian, God says to you, He will certainly not, not at all, by no means, send you back, give you up, let you sink, nor fail to uphold you, and He will not abandon you, desert you, leave you in straits, leave you helpless, nor leave you behind.
Does that sound like there is any chance of you losing your salvation?
9. God has Promised to Complete the Good Work He Started in You
The Bible says, “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:” (Philippians 1:6)
The phrase “Until the Day” translated from the Greek word “Hemera” means, “Until the last day of this present age, the day Christ will return from heaven, raise the dead, hold the final judgment and perfect his kingdom.
The phrase “Will Perform” translated from the Greek word “Epiteleo” means, to bring to an end, accomplish, perfect, execute, complete, to take upon one’s self, to make an end for one’s self.
So Philippians 1:6 is saying, until the last day of this present age, the day Christ will return from heaven, raise the dead, hold the final judgment and perfect his kingdom He will take it upon Himself to bring to an end, accomplish, perfect, execute and complete the good work of salvation He begun in you.
Does that sound like Jesus is leaving your salvation in your hands???
10. You Are Sealed with The Holy Spirit Until the Day of Redemption
The Bible teaches us that we Christians are sealed with the Holy Spirit but what exactly does that mean?
Ephesians 1:13-14 says, “In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory.”
The word “guarantee” translated as “earnest” in the KJV is the Hebrew word, “Arrabon” it was passed from the Phoenicians to the Greeks and means, “a pledge – money or property given in advance as security for the rest to be paid.”
The word carries the meaning of, “something given as a pledge certifying that the full amount will definitely be paid, it represents both a foretaste and a promise of future blessedness.”
So, when you accept Jesus as your Savior and the Holy Spirit takes up residence within you He is, in effect saying to you, “I, God, the Holy Spirit guarantee you will experience complete salvation and I certify it by personally LIVING IN YOU WITH THE PROMISE TO NEVER LEAVE according to Hebrews 13:5.
The Bible says, “And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.” (Ephesians 4:30)
The number one way to grieve the Holy Spirit is to believe that after personally guaranteeing you complete salvation He would fail to keep His word.
The assurance of salvation IS THE GOSPEL!
It’s what makes the message GOOD NEWS!
If salvation is NOT SURE and there is NO GUARANTEE of MISSING HELL… How in the world is that good news???
Haiku, plural haiku, is a form of Japanese poetry, consisting of 17 Mora or On, in three phrases of 5, 7, and 5 respectively.
The English version has 17 Syllables instead of On (They are similar but not the same).
Author’s Note: When I first learned about Haiku I was taught to compose 17 syllables and have only recently discovered the difference between a “Syllable” and an “On”
Since the Japanese language is quite different from English I have kept to my original teaching of counting syllables.
Misty mountains move,
My heart to fear and tremble,
In stillness of awe
Watching clouds go by
Building castles in the sky
And mountains of white
Moon & Sea
The silvery moon,
Kisses the radiant sea,
Lighting sparks of love
How the lilies grow,
In stagnant waters blooming
With pureness of soul
Hearts On Fire
(Marriage Is Honorable In All and The Bed Undefiled – Hebrews 13:4)
Two hearts meld and beat as oneSkin to skin, hot to the touch
Swaying hips wanting so much
Ruthless passion, righteous lust
A whispered caress, a gleeful thrust
The feel of authority, the need to submit
Milking a moment… every drop of it!
We two, ordained; not by chance
Pleasure each other in this erotic dance
Bodies swaying in sweet ecstasy
Minds merging in pure harmony
Lost… In a dream existence,
Swept… Without resistance,
Freely… We bond and share
Perfect love casts out fear
Hearts on fire, it started with a kiss
Two hearts merging in orgasmic bliss!

Dawn of A Brand New Day
As a new day is being born
Beholding the dark blue chasm of sky
Streaked with virgin rays of orange
As a witness, to the majesty
Of it’s awesome unfolding power.
As unrelenting waves of newness
Wash over the night sky.
Life itself, seems divided
East… it’s daylight
West… it’s night.
And there I stood,
Between eternity and time
Good and evil…. as it were
Day and night.
And the moon sang her song to me
In a voice,
Commanding, yet gentle.
Sing, oh moon
Sing of your glory,
For your reign is drawing nigh.
Finally, I turn to embrace
the fullness of the dawning day
As golden beams of sunlight
Bounce off the bottom of clouds
Singing the glory of God…
DAYLIGHT! IT SHINES!!
Oh my God… IT SHINES!!!
The Dawn of a Brand New Day!
